Being the lowest level on the BWF World Tour series, the Super 100 tournaments often attract emerging shuttlers from all around the world. These lower-ranked players make heads roll with their promising performances in the Super 100 events.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) provides plenty of opportunities to these rising stars by organising 10 Super 100 tournaments with its member nations. Most of these tournaments are pretty new on the circuit.
So here is the list of the 10 BWF World Tour Super 100 tournaments organised in badminton.
1. Abu Dhabi Masters
The Abu Dhabi Masters is one of the five Super 100 tournaments started in 2023. Since then, it has taken place in October every year.
Indian women’s shuttlers left their mark in the inaugural edition as Unnati Hooda won the singles title while the pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa claimed the doubles title.
2. Baoji China Masters
The Baoji China Masters is the newest entrant to the Super 100 level, having kicked off in 2024. This is, however, one of the BWF World Tour events hosted by China every year.
The Baoji China Masters has been slotted in August each season. Shuttlers from China swept titles in all five categories in the inaugural edition held in Baoji City.
3. Guwahati Masters
India’s stature in the badminton circuit is rising steadily, and the Super 100 event taking place in Guwahati is a fine example of it. This is the fourth BWF World Tour event scheduled in India every year.
The Guwahati Masters commenced in 2023. The competition takes place in December every year, a few days before the Odisha Masters begins.
The Indian women’s doubles pair of Crasto-Ponnappa dominated in the first two editions, while Sathish Karunakaran won the men’s singles trophy in 2024.
4. Indonesia Masters I
Indonesia is another country that hosts four World Tour tournaments, with two of them being part of the Super 100 level. The Indonesia Masters started in 2018 along with the BWF’s new tournament structure.
The tournament used to take place in October every year, but with the introduction of the second edition (Masters II), the Masters I now happens in the August-September window. India’s Kiran George won the men’s singles titles in the Indonesia Masters I in 2023.
5. Indonesia Masters II
In 2023, Indonesia added a new edition to the Indonesia Masters. Now the Indonesia Masters II happens after the first edition.

6. Kaohsiung Masters
In 2023, Taiwan added their second BWF event, with the inception of Kaohsiung Masters. The tournament takes place in Taiwan’s Kaohsiung every June.
7. Malaysia Super 100
The Malaysia Super 100 is the third BWF event in Malaysia. The country has been already hosting the Malaysia Open in the Super 1000 level and the Malaysia Masters in the Super 500 level.
This Super 100 event was added to the BWF calendar year in 2023. It takes place every year in October.
8. Odisha Masters
The Odisha Masters is the other Super 100 event scheduled in India. It started a year before the Guwahati Masters.
And the Odisha Masters follows the Guwahati event after a few days in December, wrapping up the Super 100 calendar. Many Indian players have displayed their skills on the home turf.
Kiran George (2022), Sathish Karunakaran (2023), and Rithvik Sanjeevi (2024) have won the men’s titles in the Odisha Masters. Unnati Hooda and the pair of Gayatri Gopichand-Treesa Jolly won the women’s singles and doubles titles in 2022, respectively. Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto, meanwhile, clinched the mixed doubles title in 2023.
9. Ruichang China Masters
The Ruichang China Masters is one of the two Super 100 events taking place in 2018. When the tournament started in 2018, it took place in Lingshui for two years before shifting to Ruichang in 2023.
China hosts the tournament in March every year, with the Chinese shuttlers dominating over their counterparts.
10. Vietnam Open
The Vietnam Open is the oldest badminton tournament among the Super 100 events. Vietnam first hosted the event in 1996, though after another season in 1997, the tournament didn’t take place till 2005.
Then in 2006, Vietnam restarted the competition, with the BWF adding it to the BWF Grand Prix event in 2007. In 2018, the governing body categorised the Vietnam Open under the Super 100 level.
Nguyen Tien Minh, a men’s Vietnamese shuttler, is the most successful player in the tournament, with four singles titles.
